While browsing through the social media recently, it came to our knowledge that there is a popular Handmade Noodle stall, Jiak Mee, located above Bishan Bus Interchange.
Jiak Mee |
We ordered You Mee in the dried version. The Noodles were tossed in a sweet dark sauce with vegetables, anchovies and minced meat as ingredients. The bowl of soup was tasty with familiar instant noodle MSG and with egg added.
You Mee (Dry) - $5.30 |
The bowl of Mee Hoon Kueh was topped with fragrant fried shallot as well as fried anchovies.
Traditional Mee Hoon Kueh (Soup) - $4.80 |
The texture of Mee Hoon Kueh (MHK) was chewy and gave me a different perspective of the usual texture of MHK.
Chewy |
The broth was different and tasted more of the bland side if compared to the soup given to the Dry Version. Eggs, vegetables and minced meat were also part of the Hand Made Noodle.

Overall, though I find that Jiak Mee standard of Home Made Noodle may be better than the usual stall. I find that its pretty ordinary for me and luckily there is no long queue during my order. In short, there are better Mee Hoon Kueh out there.
