Economy minister Rafizi Ramli says Padu has entered Phase 2, which sees data being analysed to determine the number of occupants in a house, among others.

PETALING JAYA: Selangor saw the highest number of people register with Padu, the government initiative aimed at ensuring the efficient delivery of targeted subsidies.

In a written parliamentary reply, economy minister Rafizi Ramli said 1.76 million participants in the state, including 178,045 civil servants, had updated their profiles in the system.

This was followed by Johor (1.24 million) and Sarawak (1.07 million).

The federal territories of Labuan (31,710) and Putrajaya (37,496) as well as Perlis (110,082) had the least number of people signing up.

Padu is currently in Phase 2, which sees data being analysed to determine the number of occupants in a house and net disposable income, among others, Rafizi said.

He was replying to Radzi Jidin (PN-Putrajaya) who wanted a breakdown of the number of people who signed up for Padu, including civil servants.

In March, chief statistician Uzir Mahidin revealed that about 10.6 million Malaysians had updated their data with Padu as of March 30.

This was 48.3% of the 21.96 million Malaysians above the age of 18. - FMT
